This past week has been an adventurous one. For the first time since being here, I finally took a "holiday" (as the Brits call it) out of town on just two days off. On Wednesday night, Kim, Nim, and Sonya met me at work, as I was the last one to finish - I didn't finish my last lesson until 7PM. Thank you, ladies. We headed to the bus stop at MoChit, and chilled for over an hour or so. The bus arrived at around 930, and we were up and away on the 10+hour bus ride. Within an hour or so, Nim took advantage of the soft, plush, fatty shoulders of yours truly. Needless to say, the entire right side of my body went numb, as did my tush, from not moving. After making a pit-stop at 1 in the morning, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, so the bus driver could get something nasty to eat, Nim realized that this did not seem to satisfy her resting level, as she immediately found an even more comfortable position, sprawling all out on the lap. I am not quite sure how it can possibly happen, but the gluteous maximus went even more sour, if that is believable. How did I get her back? During the wee hours of the morning, where I essentially didn't sleep the whole night, I sprawled my fatass all out on her lap. TAKE THAT, NIM! HA, that must have been so brutal for her.

"妳靠著我的肩膀
妳在我胸口睡著"

We got to Nim's home town of Nan at around 7:30 in the morning. So, as you can tell, this vacation was going to be jam-packed with goodies from the get-go. Mama Nim picked us up in her decked out Isuzu SUV. This jount was a monster, and would be our transportation for the day. She dropped us off at our hotel, where I took a shower and crashed out on the bed for an hour or so. Kim and Sonya were right next door. Just when I was about to dream, Nim comes back from showering and resting up at her house and pounces on me to get up. Needless to say, I was up.

"說不上為什麼
我變得很主動"

We drove to Nim's old workplace, where she caught up with her former coworkers, and we had some coffee. Then, we picked up Mama Nim, and drove to the park, which was over an hour away, and had some sticky rice w/ chicken. All that was missing were some watermelon and grits, I would've felt right at home. What was next? We went white water rafting. That was exciting. No huge jounts, but enough to get wet, and I definitely tanned up a bit as well. After that, we went back to the hotel to sleep. Man, I was tired. I couldn't fall asleep though. I ended up laying in bed for a bit, listening to Jay, where I eventually got up and went to walk around to the Mom & Pops store. I got back, chilled in the parking lot cause I didn't want to wake Nim. I did something that I hadn't done in a long, long time - I threw rocks, or... pebbles/stones. It felt nice, I still got it, to some degree.

We had dinner at this great seafood place. We ate so much food, it was unreal. We parked our car at the hotel, and then walked to this outdoor bar that we saw after breakfast, earlier in the day. As we walk in, I came to a realization that it was a complete sausage-fest. It made me a bit uncomfortable, as I was walking into this place with three beautiful women. We all got the stares... I'm sure many of those guys were thinking, "Who is that guy, and how did he manage that?"

We had a couple of beers, and then decided to dip. We headed to 7-11, and bought more booze to bring back to the hotel. After we got back, we sat outside and pounded those toughguys, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company. It was getting late, so we headed back up to the rooms. We'll have to take an intermission here and stop at this:

"牽著妳的手
一陣莫名感動"

We wake up pretty early the next morning, and had breakfast before heading on another bus from Nan to Chiang Mai. This bus ride turned out to be 6+ hours away. Whew, my entire right side went numb again - NIM! I should've learned my lesson from the previous overnight ride, maybe we should've sat on the left side of the bus. After getting to Chiang Mai, we went straight for food at the Riverside restaurant. After that, we walked around for a bit, where we perused Northern goods, and eventually settled at this Italian restaurant for Gelati. After the dessert, we headed to the airport, hopped on the plane and got back to Bangkok, or... my room at 1ish.

Okay, it was an excellent trip. And here is even more excellent news. Nim has taken charge in setting up a charity concert, where the proceeds are going to renovate/refurbish one of the countryside elementary schools. If any of you are willing to come in with me on contributions, holla at yo boy. Giving back to kids is always a good thing! Kisses, I'll update you guys every step of the way, for these remaining 30 days.

Last Wednesday, as you can find from the facebook pictures, Dirt McGirt, Cunningham, Watson, Nim, Noon, and I hit up Ekkamai for the first time. We went to Curve, and it was just downright dead. Nim and Noon turned out to be the life of the club, as they sang along with the live band - it was straight up KTV style. There were some bomb ladies there as well; in a crew with Koreans. That was interesting to see. One of the head-honchos was so blatant, it seemed like he was fisting his escort date the whole time.

On Thursday, Sonya and I hit up the gym, went into work, and then hit up Soi Cowboy for drinks with Alan. Nothing new, the usual cheap beer. Dao, our hostess at Midnight, walked past Sonya and I while we were waiting on Alan, and acknowledged me. Considering that we hadn't visited Cowboy in ages, I was rather surprised. After a couple of drinks, we went bowling, and Sonya and I got tanked. It was fun though.

I didn't do anything on Friday, except for laundry and ironing. Oh wait, I did get an aromatherapy massage.

Saturday was work, and that was torture. I went over to Sonya's for pizza and beer, and we chatted up for an hour or so. I went home, and it sucked.

Last night, we all headed over to Sonya's, and made our Kratongs. Today is Loy Kratong. Today is the day that Thais confess their sins and pray/hope for a new beginning, thanking the rain and water Gods for not having droughts in this disastrous, developing nation. Tonight, we'll be heading to Lumphini park and setting off our floats. I'll post pictures. They are hilarious.

I have some thoughts I want to talk about. But, I can't think of the details here just yet.

It has been a while since I last updated. This past week has been rather busy. While I did not work as long or as hard as Cunningham (she put in 10 hours at the office everyday this past week), I can still feel the resulting fatigue. This past Tuesday, I covered Sonya's class, teaching Tong & Ngek. I have been teaching at IH for almost a year now, but this was the first time that I had the opportunity to teach a couple 20-year olds. Tong & Ngek are 22; Tong plays for the other team, and Ngek is a post-op ladyboy. So, crossed out some other things off the professional teaching career checklist. For the first time in a long, long time, I was extremely anxious prior to the lesson. They were fantastic, I had a great time, and that was that. Yesterday, after work, Cunningham and I went to buy food for our event this evening. We spent close to $80 for tonight's bbq event.

I am excited. I'll post pictures when I get the chance.

Yesterday, after work, Sonya and I went to Big C to buy food and a grill. We went back to her place, fired up the grill, and pounded beers. It took a couple of hours for all of the food to be done, but it was a nice steady process. Kim got back at around 10:30ish, and I left their place at around 11:30ish or so...

Sonya and I hit up the gym this morning, and it was a nice, tough workout. We then went to Emporium to eat some Japanese food, went to the used bookstore to pick up some reading material, and then I went to 7-11 to pick up junk food before coming home. Yikes!

Counting down the days, it looks to be around 56.

P.S. Every movie playing in Bangkok right now is terrible... Check for yourself... www.movieseer.com
None of those movies have a rating of 40+ at Rotten Tomatoes.
