Aside from often being mocked for being [blank]ay for Jay (fill in the blank as you see fit), I find myself listening to 李秀英 (Lee Soo Young). Needless to say, I become nostalgic for the good ol' high school days when I was just a kpop fanatic. Nowadays, I do not listen to much Korean music, other than 李秀英 (Lee Soo Young). I find that as I get older, my taste in music are changing constantly and appropriately, according to my age. I remember in college, I could fall asleep to Alice Deejay, as if someone was counting sheep to me. At the age of 25, if it isn't an R&B ballad, you might as well turn off any distractions. Hachi machi, I am getting super old.
I'm not too surprised that 李秀英 (Lee Soo Young) is a top celebrity in Taiwan. With the way my fellow countrypersons salivate over Korean soaps/dramas... Just kidding... All joking aside, have to give the compliments as they are deserved. No matter the language, we can all appreciate great music - passion can always be appreciated. Plus... the fact... that she is just SILLY doesn't hurt either. See for yourself:

Gripe
I am currently in the middle of my second Intensive Teaching Experience, where I am essentially teaching all of the classes for everyday of this week. I am rather exhausted, as I am rushing to complete school work for the graduate classes, as well as preparing for each instructional class period. I am crawling to the midpoint, I really am.So, I've got a complaint to make. It may have something to do with culture, ethnicity, race, gender, socioeconomic... but whatever it comes to be (as I do not need to reveal that), it flat out sums up to be rude. I walk into the Clarksville Bank of America after school today, to cash a check. In my short-term memory, the instances where I cashed checks, it would not take a lengthy period of time. The amount I was cashing was not a large amount. I had out my government ID and my Bank of America check card, I was ready to go. This teller takes his jolly good ol' time, looking at me and then at my card twice before slowly entering my Driver's License number into the computer. I am completely befuddled of his actions - never once can I recall an instance where I requested to cash a check (under a certain amount), and the teller spent this amount of processing time. I rudely commented,
"Sir, if this is going to take a long period of time, I might as well deposit the check."
He responds, "No, not going to take long at all. I am almost finished."
The store manager hears my whiny outcry of desperation and walks over. I have seen her once or twice before, and am surprised when she asks, "Mr. Chen, how are you doing this afternoon?"
After a bit of small chat, the teller is still processing this check, and I am absolutely getting impatient and going out of my mind.
He asks, "Would large bills be okay?"
I respond, "Yes, that is great."
He follows up, "I am sorry, I only have X amount of these bills. Would smaller bills be okay?"
At this point, I am just infuriated. I immediately placed a bad beat on him in front of his store manager.
"You ask me if I want large bills, and I responded that I would like the large bills. Now, you tell me you do not have enough. That is not my problem. I am the customer, I already told you what I want, and if that cannot happen, I would be more than happy to just deposit the check."
I am sure that the store manager understood my rage, as she just told the teller to make a transfer with the next teller over. The bad beat does not end there. Before he hands me the cash, he has the audacity to tell me that I have X amount in my checking account (obviously, abusing his knowledge of my checking account) and it is just sitting there. I reply like a smart-ass that the account is an interest-bearing checking account, and that I am not interested in opening a CD or any other credit card bogus offer.
This is where my veins are bursting with fury. I was once a salesman, and I know that it is a tough job. So nowadays, I have no problem allowing someone to try and sell me something. However, s/he gets that one shot to blow my socks off. After that, you've got to pack it up, go home, and just ship it. This toughguy definitely stacked me with just pure anger, and just pushed for this ridiculous CD, money market, etc.
I just responded, "Look. I have large requirements of payments. I stay liquid. Believe me, I have assets with much higher returns than your pitiful low-risk, low-yield, non-liquid drags of useless funding. Have a wonderful day."
With this, I took my money, turned around, and left. Low-class? Maybe. Upset? This
Speaking of bad beats... R.I.P. Sean Taylor. He passed away this morning at the age of 24. That is a sick beat. Abuse on Life.

While this past weekend was Thanksgiving weekend, I do not feel one bit rested at all. I definitely am feeling the after-effects of gluttony, albeit my family is vegetarian and my brother and father were not home. I do not believe the holiday season affects the way I eat. I am all about constantly stuffing myself at any given time. I guess that is a reason for why I have ballooned. The highlight from this past weekend? Well, where do I begin? It was nice meeting S.A. for the first time. Finally, after 10 years of knowing Mark, I finally meet his brother. Good seeing L.K., as always, although this upcoming hiatus of not seeing will be short-lived, I'll test the heights of the infamous suicide balcony in a matter of weeks. Met up with S and D on Friday night... Good times.
The literal "creme" of my weekend? On Friday night, prior to meeting up with S, D, M, and the fellas in Bethesda, Jason invited me to join him in the Capital One Suite at the Verizon Center for the Wizards/Warriors game. In my 18 years of living in Maryland, I believe this is the first time that I have been to a Bullets/Wizards game. Although we took a brutal beat from the Baron's aggressiveness and S. Jack's hot hand, I had a great time. Below are pictures of the monies not going to Capital One shareholders:

Why Asian Men Love Asian Women
In light of this youtube clip that I found, Why Asian Girls Go For White Guys (can be found here), I decided to write a commentary on Why Asian Guys Love Asian Women. To simplify matters, I am using the girls from 我愛黑澀會. Well, "Good Morning," as Kanye West says, allow us to start class:
First and foremost, it is indisputable that Asian girls are photogenic. They know how to look good when that picture is snapped, with or without makeup:
Asian women not only look great in their pictures, they've got the expressions and emotions to add that additional umph in their attractive appeal. There is an assortment of said varieties.
Cute:
Vogue / Fashionable / Imitation Models:
Sex Appeal:
Professional:
And while Asian Women are great in pictures, as they can change wardrobes, change styles, or change expressions, there is nothing more attractive than loyalty... Honesty, Support, Friendship, the Truth... Sticking by your man:
Obviously, I am a huge 大牙 fan. While she may not be the "10", Channel V needs to be appreciative of her efforts, as I am sure she is appreciative of "ANDY" (Channel V young buck CEO) for giving her the opportunity to strike gold. Never forget, on this Thanksgiving, we all ought to be grateful for the women in our lives. All women are beautiful. Anyhow, I could not allow myself to forget and reveal the most intriguing reason Why Asian Men Love Asian Women -

Okay, it has been a while since I did a "Twin" post (Joanna, here is your 15 minutes of fame)... Considering the holiday season has begun, and I cannot focus on my school work, I decided to share another with everyone. Is there a resemblance between Joanna and 小蠻? And no, we do not all look alike, you trifling racists. See for yourself:

Option
My sister and I were at the annual McDonogh vs. Gilman game today. Last year, McDonogh pulled out an incredible victory in overtime. This year, the Eagles were not as fortunate. The game was exciting, the McDonogh atmosphere was present, but a loss is a loss. I had the chance to see Lane Clelland play today. He is the starting Left Tackle for the Eagles. He stands 6'5", 270 pounds, and is a 4-star recruit that is headed for Notre Dame next year.Speaking of Notre Dame... I have never been a fan of the Fightin' Irish. Ever since I started to watch college football, I've never liked them. While it may seem immature to be happy over someone else's demise, I cannot say how happy I am to see them to show their true loser colors. Last weekend, Navy was able to beat Navy, a feat unheard of in 43 years. Notre Dame is currently trailing the Air Force Academy 34-24 late in the fourth quarter. I am ecstatic.
I made an idiotic play last night against Chip Jett. I cannot help but to continuously replay what happened in my head over and over again. Mistakes are brutal. Time to get back to work.

Elegance
Wonderful lunch with the parents. 3-hour power nap in the afternoon. Grade papers. Student, Student-teaching, on the job. Productive day. Good day.
This evening, I watched my third Grace Kelly movie. Several years ago, I watched Dial M for Murder and Rear Window, and was just captivated by her beauty. This was also my third Cary Grant film... North by Northwest is probably one of my favorite movies of all time, and Bringing up Baby was my first Katherine Hepburn film (co-starring with CG). Anyways, after watching this movie, and the infamous Entourage episode, I might need to take a trip to France for my next vacation. I have got to see for myself just how great many claim this place to be. Okay, let us not be distracted - strong recommend on this Alfred Hitchcock film. Who can match Kelly's elegance in the modern day?

Cheating
I wanted to take the time in addressing the devilish act of Cheating. Would any of you be a whistle-blower if you knew your best friend was cheating on his wife? Would you be a snitch when you knew your classmates were cheating on their tests? Or better yet, would you rat out the friend that was harming society in making a quick buck?Funny how things come in full circle. Last night, I watched Lord of War, and this morning, I turn on Mike & Mike to hear them talk about the George Mitchell investigations. "There will be no such thing as privacy if you choose to come forward. If there three people are involved, the other two better be dead for this to be kept a secret."
Lies, lies, and more lies. I guess Bridget Moynahan is not a big fan of swindlers. Ahh, yes, before I forget... I will 'tay for Jay. And no, Jay is not short for Jared Leto (who co-stars in the movie). Jay is Jay, as in Jay Chou. The perennial all-star of music, Jay has come out with his annual CD, On the Run, and I've got to say that it is golden. Although he does not stick to the country music theme throughout the album, all songs are super catchy.
This is what you look like when you are just tired. No drugs. No alcohol. No cigarettes. No dip. Just fat and tired.

Swirlin'
It has been a long, couple of weeks lately. Instead of gutting it out, I am going out of town tonight, just to get away from here. There is a part of me that feels like I am about to go out of my, mind, with all of this work that is due. By the beginning of this upcoming week, I will need to have completed lesson plans for my Intensive Teaching Experience at the end of November, finish a 10-pager paper, and review four articles. Can I do this? It does not look like I have a choice. However, I am placing much value on this evening's getaway with Arin and Mark.
Today's theme is swirlin'. What does swirlin' mean? Urban Dictionary defines Swirlie as a form of torture where an individual's head is dunked into a toilet bowl and flushed. Fortunately, this definition does not apply here. Since high school, some of us have labeled Swirlies as our lady friends who are mixed blood - Caucasian and Asian. This is Leah Dizon. She is a Las Vegas-born Japanese celebrity. I came across her work when I was perusing for Jay's new album, 《我很忙》. Call it fate, not sure what Google Taiwan was thinking when these two came together. I would not be surprised if Jay knew her intimately. But, I won't start any rumors.
Leah Dizon is 21 years old, and she is part Chinese, Filipino, and French. In one of my journals to turn in this past week, I wrote about how we are no different from our middle school ways. In fact, many of our problems are still as trivial as they were 10-15 years ago. We all still yearn for attention, we all crave to be cared for, we all seek affection and emotional warmth. The ways we go about in obtaining these wants have changed, as adults supposedly can go about doing so with a mature mindset.
Anyways... does anybody ever feel that natural 'high' when you listen to a live concert, and hear the audience/fans singing along with the band? Before long, the band ceases to sing, and the audience go ape-wild over their A-Cappella... Is this feeling ever present when you are just captivated by an individual's single look?
I think I have.
Last night, I watched The Departed. Director Scorsese's interpretation of the writing is completely different from Lau Wai-Keung's depiction of the writing. While these are two completely different styles, judging the film based upon the acting would be similar to comparing apples to oranges - it would not work. However, if we critique the acting in both movies, on an individual basis, this would be a fair judgment of each film. Personally, I feel that The Departed does not match up with Infernal Affairs. Star power? Sure, the Joker will forever be a great villain in American film, short only to Voldemort. Matt Damon is no Andy Lau, nor does Leonardo DiCaprio come close to being as skilled as Tony Leung. Could it be age? Maybe. But in that case, although Martin Sheen is my favorite President of the United States, his career work of art does not span the wide range of performances by Anthony Wong. But where does The Departed truly come short of Infernal Affairs? Ask Matt Damon. His work was absolutely horrendous in this film; he dragged this film down. Like I mentioned earlier, it may be unfair to compare his character with the way Andy Lau acted, as the scripts were different in some parts of the movie. However, compare Matt Damon in his role as Colin Sullivan versus his performance as Linus Caldwell in the Ocean Franchises. Is there a difference? Ugh, disappointedly, I believe not. I could not hold back laughter throughout the film because of this observation. While I am no DiCaprio fan, he did put forth an excellent effort, albeit coming up expectedly short of Tony Leung. Overall, this movie is a B+ (attribute it to Jack's charm).
