What a crazy day! I just got off the phone with mommy, who I spoke to on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes. This morning, I got into work completely unmotivated. I started off the first class okay, right up until the end... With about 15 minutes to go in the class, I don't know what pushed me, but I went to the far side of the room, and without notice, threw my taped paper ball towards the clock. I'VE STILL GOT IT! I hit bullseye, and the glass shattered. Receptionists heard the pang, and thought something huge happened. This was where I got caught offguard. They asked my students in Thai what had happened. With the little Thai that I know, my students LIED! They said that we were playing a game, and one of them had accidentally overthrown the ball. After the receptionists left, I asked them why they had lied... To my utter surprise, they said that they didn't want me to get into trouble. I mean, come on, excuse my arrogance, but it is going to take more than just a broken clock to get this SENIOR TEACHER fired. HA! I guess this was the moment that made my day, this was another moment that I will add to the wall of teaching achievements - the mutal respect and care in the teacher/student relationship.

P.S. Heading out of the country in August, more details to come later.
P.P.S. Took down 4th in the 8.5k guarantee. Had mental blowups at the end table, pardon the French, it sucked.
